Getting ready for my group build and I wanted to model the Black Sheep Squadron. Do I go with an inferior kit like Academy who has the decals for VMF 214 or do I buy the better Tamiya kit and hope I can find the decals after market!

IMHO, go with the Tamiya kit. The decals in Academy are notoriously lousy, so if you went with their kit the decals probably wouldn’t work well anyway. HTH! [:D]
Roll Models has a set of Sky decals, 48 042, that covers 32 a/c, including 2 from VMF 214.
I totally agree with Daywalker. Academy decals should be banned!
