F4U-1D Cockpit Placards from Waldron?¿

Hi people, I’ve a academy 1/48 f4u-1d corsair. I don’t like the cockpit, but I don’t find any aftermarket resin or photoetche product for a upgrade it. If a waldron plascard good? or any know about a resin cockpit for this model?
thanks a lot

I swear by anything made by Waldron. I haven’t used the Corsair placards, but if they are anywhere as good as the ones for the Spitfire or the Mustang or the B-17/B-25 radio fronts, they are great. Right now, in preparation for building the Trumpetor Spit floatplane in 1/24, I just finished assembling the throttle quadrant that came with the Waldron placards, along with an oxygen regulator and some other cockpit goodies most AM firms ignore. The thing has fourteen parts to it! But, I managed to stack it all together on a tiny jig made of three pieces of wire stuck up through the bottom of a piece of plastic card. And I also managed to cement it together with thin Eduard CA without messing up my operating throttle and mixture levers. Now, I have completed about 1/1000 of the total volume of this model in just three hours. I’m not about to extrapolate that to the finished model, because I don’t think I’ll live long enough to finish it at this rate.
But, back to the placards, get 'em, then get some of his seat belt buckles, and his instrument faces and you’re in business my friend. Waldron is still the Cadillac of AM parts as far as I’m concerned. In 1/24, you can actually read the instruments, the reproduction on the film is so sharp. And they are photographed from the originals.

Thanks sharkskin… This kit (corsair) has nice, but the cockpit need work, the sidewalls and floor are poor (don’t have throttle quadrant or anything), and the intrument are a decal. I hope that plascard make me a good upgrade of the cockpit…
