Good afternoon, I’m sharing my latest project, a 1/48 scale F-89C Scorpion from Revell. It’s a rather poor model, or rather, quite bad, but even with poor fit, raised panel lines, and only raised rivets, I’m happy with the result. I hope you like it.
Nice job on that old kit. Finish looks great.
Thank you so much ![]()

Really well done. The finish shows that oxidized patina that is so difficult to achieve. Display it proudly!
You did a very nice job on the Scorpion. I love the oxidation I’m seeing in your NMF.
Thank you so much for your kind words!
Thank you so much. It took some work, but I’m satisfied with how it turned out.
It’s lookin’ good to me! Looks like you know your real life subject pretty well!
Thanks for sharing and have a nice day!

Great NMF and weathering combo…looks exactly like what you would expect a well-used ANG jet to look like, well done! If I may ask, what did you use for the NMF?
Thank you so much for your kind words. I used the Aluminum paint from AK Interactive’s Xtreme Metal range, and for the panel weathering I used different colors of aluminum from the same brand. I finished it with H30 gloss varnish.
Thanks for the info. Reason I ask is that I have the same kit in the stash and just never got the oomph to start it…seeing how well yours turned out got me thinking about trying my hand at it. It’s an old kit, with old kit challenges, but if I could come halfway to what you made I’d be thrilled. Again, kudos on a really nice build of a fairly uncommon aircraft.
I’m sure you’ll make it even better. With patience and determination, everything works out.
