F-86F-30 Sabre

After about 14 years I am starting my 1st model.

It’s an F-86F-30 Sabre 1/48.

OK here it is so for…

What can I say, I used a small brush… [:)]

As for the IP, I read somewhere on here about using sand paper for highlighting. 1st time I did this. Not to bad [swg]

I know, I know not much but I am taking my time hehehe.

Will post more pics as I go along

Input… more then Welcome [:D]

Bud

looks like you’re off to a good start! Keep up the good work.

Joshua

Excellent start so far! Keep those LARGE pictures coming.

Bud,

I’m going to stop answering your questions, and start asking my own! Excellent beginning!

tedhealy, the pics to big ? I can shrink them down some if I need to.

And Bgrigg… LOL

Thanks all

Bud

Great start Bud. Keep up the good work and keep’em coming! I really like your IP. Are you sure this isn’t 1/8 scale or something? [(-D][bow]

Wow, I gotta tag this thread to use as a build guide for when I start my F-86.

Lookin’ good Bud!

IP ?

Nope, it’s 1/48th. why ?

I never think my work is good, so THANK Y’LL Very much [:D]

But I am still trying to work out the " Puddy " thing. I always HATED that part.

Bud

OMG Dave, I’m NOT that good LOL

Bud

IP = instrument panel

Keep the pics coming Bud [tup]

Nice start Bud. Keep us posted.

Regards, Rick

Update. Here are some more pics I took today. That time again, " Puttying and Sanding and Priming " Oh My !

A little dusty on the IP. It will be cleaned up.

So as y’ll can see I am on my way. I am going to be putting BMF on this build, and another 1st for me.

Have a GREAT day all

Bud

Lookin’ good Bud!

I gotta drag my F-86 out of the stash and get started pretty soon.

-dave

Nice work so far! I always get caught up on the puttying and sanding part, too[:(] Good luck with BMF, what brand of paint are you using? What kit are you using? I love the look of the Sabre, and yours is no exception!

Nice work and a great jet… one of my favs[:)]

I am using Wet/Dry Sand Paper this time, 1st for me, Hmmmmmm a LOT of 1st for me on this build LOL. I think I will be using the wet/dry all the time now, I love it. [:)]

I am building the Hasegawa 1/48th scale F-86F-30 Sabre US Air Force kit.

The paint I am using is " Model Master Acryl " and some of the " Tamya Acrylic " I had laying around.

I do want to thank all of you for all the nice things you are saying. As I said before and I don’t know if some of you say this, but, I never think my work is that good.

So thanks all

Bud

OK, first off. No way. No way. You’ve been secretly build for years. That cannot be a first time back in the saddle kit. [;)]

Wow, Dubau- that is great looking work. Just great.

OK- share this info- I’d like to know how you did that. I haven’t heard of that technique.

Keep it man- great looking work!

Thanks for the large picks! What camera and how do you get that size photo online! I wish we could all post like that! When I can see the sanding dust in the IP, now that’s detail!

Your right Jon B. Out of the 14 years from the time my kids were born till now. I think I build 3 models, and they were for my kids with in the past 2 years. I just slapped them together and slapped some paint on them. No sanding no nothing. I just did not have the time to really work on a model like I am now. One was an A-10 that’s in the trash now and another is an old kit of Mr. Spock.

And the last one I did was for my little girl… 11 years old not that little, LOL It was Herbie The Love Bug. with no painting and just slapped together.

And now for the IP sanding. I read that you paint the IP and after it dry’s you use some sand paper. What I did was just scrap the IP over the sand paper till the IP looked good to me. Another thing I read was to cut out a small round peice of sand paper and glue it onto the end of a pencil and use it that was.

I hope that helps

Bud
