Anybody know what the red thing sticking out of the rear left bottom of the fuselage is? The one underneath the horizontal stabilizer on the left side?
I’ve looked all through the Squadron Walk-Around book and ddin’t find a single reference to it . . .

I just looked through my Warbird Tech on the F-86 and…no reference to this piece. Will look closer through text, but no diagram or photo referencing it.
I know it is a vent, I’m pretty sure it is a fuel vent, but I can’t find areference right away.
It is a fuselage fuel cell vent. It was painted red as a warning and to make it more visible to keep maintenance from splitting their head on it.
