Anybody have a reference for the paint color for F-84F wheel wells with the SEA camouflage scheme?
The wheel wells, gear doors, struts. wheels, and all related equipment was painted gloss white, not flat white as reported in some publications. They were painted in gloss white so they would be easy to keep clean. Also any hydraulic fluid, which was pink in color would be easy to detect.

If you are going to do any weathering remember, the wells may be white, but they also showed dirt and grime easy. The wheels were always throwing axle grease and that caused the gear doors to turn black inside. Depending on how much you weather would depend on how dirty the areas would be.
