Has anyone bought and built this model: TAM60310) F-4E Phantom II Early Production 1-32 by Tamiya
It cost almost 150 dollars I was wondering of the kit was worth it.
Does Tamiya plan for anymore like this one?
TIA

Ive built there J model and have a F-4C/D that i plan on building some time soon and i only payed 82bucks for it . There kits are vary well made and come with metal landing gear remove before flight tags and rubber tires, they also come with a bag of screws and nuts to attach setine parts. But i wold shop around for a better price.
I’ve never built the kit, but I’m longing for a 1/32 Tamiya Phantom so I will be purchasing one in the near future. Yes, shop around. Take a look at Greatmodels, Sprue brothers and see if they’re running a sale. If you want, you can also check lucky model - there it will be really cheap, but that might be off-set by shipping from Hong Kong unless you buy a few, then it can become worth it. Check Ebay too, although I haven’t seen too many 1/32 Phantoms rolling through there recently. Jon
Heres the cheapest ive found on the net HLj is to expensive and so is squadron these two places arent bad ive orderd from e-hobbyland and have ahd great experiance with them. So heres the two links.
http://www.buy-model.com/itemdetail.php?Id=807&ClassId=O&GroupId=108 Total price 110.45 not bad.
http://ehobbyland.stores.yahoo.net/newreltamf4e.html 117.99 buts thats before shipping.
Hope it helps.
i loved it i think it was one of the best built kits i ever built(i know that sounded weird)but i would love to do another one,[tup]
I have the kit. All I can say, IMO, it is worth it. It does have a few problems but nothing that can’t be solved by an experienced model builder.
Yes, I’ve built it, and as Berny says it is a good one.
Here’s one photo:
and there are a bunch more on my web site at This Page as well as some construction notes.
Thanks for all of the info guys. I appreciate it. I’ll shop around and pick one or two up. In addition to the camaflouge version, I want to see if I can create one like the Navy Phantom that was on display at the Carderock Naval Base I used to work at.
Thanks again.
