I have started a Hasegawa F-4B and the stinciling on the original F-4’s was much more extensive than the kit supplies. Long ago, at a scale model kit expo, I discovered a Microscale USAF stincil sheet. However the placement guide is reduced so much that it’s impossible to verify over half of them. I have a Midway cruse book that helps from pictures of personnel in front of aircraft, but this also is limited. My question is, does anyone have a stincil guide for F-4’s coming fresh out of the factory? Also. the USAF sheet is a little different than the Navy example. So I’m looking for that, too. Thanks, Tom AQF-2 VF-21(a long time ago)
Oh, another thing, 1/48 scale
I have the F-4E “Crew Chief’s Handbook” from my time I was in the USAF. My scanner went out long ago and my camera will not pick up the pages too clear. I’ll see if my son can scan it this weekend and I will send them to you. Some panels will be the same for the F-4B/N and F-4E.
The USAF used white on top and black on bottom only on the late F-4C and early F-4D. Then they went to the black all around for all other F-4’s after that. Once an aircraft went through Depot they were very seldom marked.
Is your e mail address available so I can contact you? If not. drop me an e mail.
Do you still need this information? I haven’t received a reply yet. My son is scanning the pages and transferring to CD so I should have them this weekend, I hope. Send me your e mail address so I can send the information to you, that is if you still need it.
Hi Berny, Yes I do, sorry about the late response but my computer has gone through one of its phases… I have a new email: tom_agww@yahoo.com You would be a lifesaver. In our 1965 Midway cruse, nearly all the aircraft were ‘factory new’ and had all the numbered access panels, including mine. Theres an underline after tom_agww on my address. Thanks for you’re trouble!
I haven’t forgot about you. I am still waiting for my son to finish scanning the information. He has around 15-20 pages to scan and then he will transfer the information to CD-ROM. At that time I will be able to send you the information. It may come to you in a ZIP file, Do you have the software to open it?
