I have a Hasegawa F-16C Block 40 from when I built models in high school. The decals are shot. Does anyone know where I can find decals for that block? I don’t know much about the Fighting Falcon. Never really learned about them. If you know of web sites that might help me learn the differences I would apprceiate there links.
Does any of the F-16C’s from Twobobs comply with Block 40. they seam to hvae the best decals. I know that some of the small pieces are missing but not enough to complain about. Any help would be very much apprecitated.
I am a F-16 mechanic but work on block 10 and 15 so I can’t tell you the difference. But I can give links to some good F-16 sites. http://www.fas.org./man/dod-101/sys/ac/f-16.htm here you can read about the difference. http://www.f-16.net/index.php and http://www.f16falcon.com/ and http://www.jets.dk/ the last one is a danish site but it has lots great pics and the text is in english
Aeromaster and Eagle Strike have several good F-16CG Block 40 jets represented on their sheets. A bit about versions…an F-16CG is a Block 40/42 with the GEC Avionics big wide-angle view HUD. Block 40/42 depends on engine. Most jets are Block 40 with GE F-110. The F-16CJ is the Weasel version which can drop bombs but normally carries HARM. Once the Baghdad IADS was taken down, CJs started carrying bombs, JDAM and WCMD variety. Still kept the HARM Targeting System pod…good for situational awareness. A “WCMD” or Wind Corrected Munitions Dispenser is a smart SUU-65/67 can. GPS kit on the tail. You can tell the difference as the WCMDs have silver butt end tails on them. FlightPath makes some real good ones…best I have seen on the market.
hey jimz66;
try to find tail codes of the units mostly like AV, MY, WA, ED, and many more and if they have a 89 to 92 number under the AF on the tail numbers then more then likely it’ll be a Block 40/42 Night Falcon, I haven’t work the Lawn Darts for over 10 years but as I could recall if the nose gear door has landing/taxi lights then they are the Block 50/52’s all the rest would be the older variants, I hope this will make your search easier also I know that SuperScale Decals has the Blk 40/42 markings but if they are still in production is another question
