F-14b VF-103

she took a long time, but here she is.

looks like a long time wells spent! Looks great, weathering is very nice. Now I want to build a model again… only I can’t do it in a college dorm:(

Why the heck not??? Just get an old utility table or desk from a thrift shop and have at it dude!

She’s lean, mean and ready for Migs Sarge! I agree the weathering looks darn good!

Well Done!

That Tomcat rocks. I want to jump in it and take off. What did you use for the brown rust? looking color for the wings. Very nice job.

That is an absolutely stunning Tomcat! Looking at some pics I have, you have weathered that bird spot-on. Very, very beautiful work indeed!

Too cool [8D]
Weathering is awsome. Can’t wait to start my -B cat. Again, [tup]

It’s called Winton Oil Colour, Raw Umber. I picked it up at Michaels.

Thanks guys.

<>Great looking Tomcat!

<> Only question is what’s up with the huge amount of raw umber on the wings? It stands out a bit too much against otherwise great weathering…

Very nice work. Good looking Tomcat.

Regards, Rick

I take it you’ve never seen an F-14 before it’s been cleaned after a dozen or so sorties. The raw umber represents oil leakage when wings are pivoted, flaps and spoilers are raised and lowered durring flights, so its supposed to stand out. I think Sarge did a tremendous job representing that and weathering that well is not easy.

Air Master

Hea Sarge,

Sh!t H0T job man, especially the weathering. Now, what kit did you use? Is that an aftermarket cockpit? Did you use any other add-ons? What scale? I’m working on teh Tamiya F-14B in 1/32nd scale with those same decals from Zotts. Last, it better take you awhile to get this done, I would imagine your flying a lot? Oh, by the way, Happy Birthday Devil Dog.

navyao, (Gunny Paige’s friend)

Hay, thanks man good to see ya.

I had some Med chit come up, I’m working at the MAG H.Q. now on T.A.D. My Squadron is on the boat now. I will go back. when they get home.

The kit is a 1/48 Hasagawa, with a Aries cockpit.

Thank you Air Master.

Your very welcome Sarge!

Looks darn good to me as well! I’ve seen a Tomcat up-close at an airshow, and this even seems light, regarding weathering. Excellent representation, build and finish.

thanks,

just so you guys know, I got $280 for it on e-bay.[oX)]
