Another one that was on the shelf of doom that needs to be finished. I will finish this before the other F-14. I have the fuselage built and the tails on, just finished fixing the flaps. The glue did not hold so I reglued them and after they are set up I’ll sand them then paint them FS 16440 then spray the slats metalic aluminum. The whole air frame is one color, FS 16440 with a radome tan nose cone, from the early '80s. A VF-102 Diamonds aircraft. I have the wings configured for “swept back”, slats and flaps in neutral position.
Off to a good start! I too have a shelf of doom that I need to tackle sooner or later haha
Looking forward to more WIPs.
Happy Modeling,
Mike
Thanks, I got mad at myself and put my foot down. I started a ton of models and finished very few. Now I decided which ones will get done first according to my priorities.I have to start somewhere so this is where I start.
I have a shelf of progress, not doom. But I am determined to clear that shelf before I crack the box on a new kit. But that means 7 projects to finish before enjoying the smell of fresh styrene.
I use to enjoy this hobby. That is slowly going away. I think I need a change before I burnout. It just seems a never ending rush to clean up things undone. I need a change to something I enjoy. I use to like hiking in the mountains and fly fishing. Maybe get back outdoors.
El-Seven - When it becomes a grind then definitely it is time to take a break or put the project back on the shelf for a while. I typically spend about 30 minutes a day on average at the bench (though painting sessions typically last an hour to an hour and half). I am fortunate that I have a permanent work space set up so I can pop-in do a bit of work and then get back to my daily routine/chores…so I model in small chunks which helps keep me fresh but also show some progress on projects every day.
