F-117 a-la Ace Combat

Just for fun, and to save an otherwise doomed kit, I repainted a 1/48th F-117 (tamiya, I think; I misplaced the box) with a paint scheme that could have come strait out of one of the many Ace Combat video games.

well that’s all I got (for the moment). What do y’all think?

Klik

I think it is a very cool looking “what if” scheme, looks like it turned out really nice from what I can tell.

It reminds me of what the JASDF would do if they had them. Well done!

Glenn

Awesome paint job there Klik. Ace Combat is a great series of games. Nice work.

very cool! Which game was that skin featured in? I do not remember it from any of the ones I have.

OWL

Thanks for the response guys!

OWL- you are correct. This scheme isn’t in any game, but it was partially inspired by a F-117 scheme in Ace Combat X for the PSP. These games are fun and always seem to get my creative juices flowing.

One quick question–what symbol would look best in the blue circle that currently makes up the national emblem on the sides and wings? I couldn’t think of anything, so I left it as a blue circle.

Very interesting! I have far too many F-117’s laying around. Perhaps I will do something like this someday.
