yeah i have the revell f-105d. i lost the nosecone and i was wondering if any of you have one laying around not in use that you could spare me. OR you could give me a tip on how to make one because i was thinking about making one using balsa wood or something.
Typically, ou can buy one from Revell on line. They have decent customer service. Being and OOP kit, they may or may not have the nose cone, but it’s definately worth a try if there are no donors…
i figured that since that this kit is discontinued they won’t have the part. i’ve tried ordering parts from customer service before and they NEVER have the part im looking for.
Nope, the F and G models had a larger nosecone than the D models did. Different radar or something since the F & G models were the “Wild Weasel” variants.
There are some aftermarket resin nosecones for some of the F-105’s but I don’t know if there are any specifically for the Revell 1/48 kit. I put one on a 1/32 Trumpeter “D” that I built a couple of years ago.
The nose cones on the D and F/G are interchangeable on the Monogram 1/48 models. The full scale two seat Thuds were all built as F model, pilot trainers. Many were converted to the F model Wild Weasel and about 2/3 of those were upgraded to G models.
Well you could be in luck. I built that same kit a few years ago. About a year ago, it was one of the kits that went down with the shelves that decided to pull away from the wall upon which they were mounted. What was left was not salvagable but I should still have the nose cone. I’ll have to climb into the attic to dig through the plastic baggie for all the loose parts that I picked up that horrid afternoon, but go ahead and send me a PM if you have not acquired a replacement part as yet.
thanks for the replies guys but i already made a nose cone out of spare balsa from a guillow kit. spent the whole day working on it. to be honest with ya it looks pretty darn good. once i paint it up, you won’t hardly notice the difference.
thanks anyway for the help
wish i could post pics of it and the rest of my models but i don’t have a digital camera.
