F-104G "Bavaria" Finished!

[:)]Hi Folks,

at long last here she is, a 1/48 Hasegawa Luftwaffe F-104G built from the box, with the Eduard PE cockpit set and painted with Xtracolour enamels. The kit is a real joy to build and almost falls together, the only pain with this one was the complex paint job, it took ages! Anyway, for those who have followed my ups and downs with this kit-here it is.

Nicely done. One tip on the cockpit picture – when setting up to take that shot suppliment your light with a small flashlight, you’ll get a much better view of the pit that way.

Excellent work & a beautiful build. As Swanny noted, the cockpit pics are too dark to see much, but I’m sure it matches the quality of the rest of the build.

Regards, Rick

Nice looking Starfighter Darren
great looking build

A very good looking aircraft. [8D]My compliments on an eye catching build.[:D]
Eddie

Thanks for your kind words guys, I’ll try your lighting tip to see if I can get a better view of the “office”

Regards,

Darren.

Woah! Superb model, Darren! Glad I came back to see that!

Cheers Domi! Glad to have you back around here,

Darren.

All right Darren!! That’s a beauty. I built that same kit, but didn’t have the stones to do the Luftwaffe camo. Foiled it instead. Outstanding work that would look great on anyones shelf. Congratulations on a very nice looking model.

Jerry

Thank you very much Jerry! I’m really pleased that you like it.

Darren.

Great work on the Starfighter. The finish is exceptional as is the cockpit.

Looks Fantastic Tango. Did you have any troubles with the build? Im acctually just about to start with the same kit in 1/48th and the 1/32 kit at the same time. Yours look great I hope to come as close to the same results that youve accomplished.

Tango-I built a Starfighter in 1/72 in West German markings-not as nice as yours though.

Excellent job on an underappreciated aircraft! Detailing and painting are exceptional! Thanks for sharing with us!

Beautiful machine, fine build, nice kit. Being a Starfighter fiend, I had to do at least one German a/c. I built the same kit in this scheme (though I found photos of it in an old magazine in which the wings were white, so I copied that). It is not an easy scheme, but as your model shows, it’s well worth the result. Congrats. Now, if Hasegawa would just give us a two-seater!
Tom

Mighty nice Starfighter Tango1. That’s one I want to build oneday. Those Luftwaffe schemes are pretty neat and that’s what I would most likely do. Joe

Excellent job on the build, Darren! Beautiful work.

Nice build. The F-104 is a favorite of mine, from childhood. I always remember the scene from “The Right Stuff” where Yeager has to bail out of his…

“Hey Ridley, you got any Beaman’s?
Sure, I think I got me a stick.
Well loan me some, will ya? I’ll pay you back later.”

Thanks Everyone for all your kind words, much appreciated[tup]

Jeff Gordon,

to answer your question, this kit is a dream to build. There were no fit problems and it went together without any trouble at all. I would recommend the Eduard PE set too, it really does enhance the “office” on this one.

Thanks again to all of you for your comments,

Darren.[;)]

And to think I was taking the time to point out minor flaws as you went along… Looks great Darren. But we all knew it would. It was you building it after all.

A missle with a man in it…
