Hello, what in your opinion is the most dramatic bare metal paint scheme for an F-100C?

Col. George Laven had a Hun that was very bright. Lots of color. You can see it if you Google it
Here’s Laven’s F-100C made by converting the wing and fin of an Esci 1/72 scale F-100D. Finish on this one (made almost 20 years ago) is SnJ Spray Metal (out of production) and Testor Metalizer. Some of the markings came from a Superscale sheet, but the stripes missing from the sheet were made by cutting strips of solid-color decal trim film.
Trumpeter attempted this aircraft in its F-100C kit, but also was missing some of the striped areas. Not to mention that they don’t have the right fin shape and a “frownie” intake shape.
Yeah… do that one.[:D]
Don’t forget the Thunderbird sceme. Best Thunderbird ever, the F-100!
Yes, the Thunderbirds flew the Cs and the Ds (and a couple of Fs). Early on, the Cs didn’t have the bird motif on the bottom and no refueling probe. Later, the Cs got the bird and the probe. I believe Warbird Models has recently released Thunderbird sheets on the D models from a couple of different seasons. Don’t think anyone has done sheets on C Thunderbirds (at least not in 1/72 scale or else I would have them).
I built that trumpeter 1/72 on in that scheme with the supplied decals. I don’t know of the mistakes mentioned but it really is a nice kit and the complex decals went on without any problems, a nice easy build.

The Skyblazers flew the C & imho it would make for a more interesting / less common scheme;
They were missing some of the striped areas. I can’t recall just what, but notice that the wing and tail tips have the set of stripes, as does the speed brake, the little door at the front of the nose-gear well, and the pitot boom. Did they give you the stripes at the front end of the drop tanks? I can’t recall. Also note the multicolored fins on the drop tanks. Here’s another view:
It is the rear of the aircraft which makes the most worn area of the BMF schemes to duplicate. My email is. benzay@comcast.net. I will send you a photo of my F-100 D which has the same standard BMF schemes as the F-100c .Take my advice .I flown these birds in my younger days.
