I built a weird contraption from old scrap parts when I was 12-13…lol
P-61 Blackwidow cockpit tub
cobra helicopter skiis
huge double row radial engine with prop on rear
a-10 warthog wings with full ordanance
f-15 radar dish on front…
wish I had a pic of it…
I once built an oddball job it had…
the fuselage and cockpit and u/cof a matchbox lysander
the engine and prop from a matchbox tempest 5
the wings from a revell X3 stilleto
the fuselage top and rotor from a supercobra
thank god i don’t have it anymore!!!
Scratch-fiction can be fun! I remember a cool looking contraption I made out of an Airfix Scorpion hull and the floats from a Matchbox DHC-2 (?).
I thought that’s what I was doing every time a built a model. Or maybe it just looks that way. [:p]

Well, I built a flag pole out of sprue once… Does that count?
(I’m a bit of a packrat, so most scrap just ends up in a box somewhere, doing absolutely NOTHING!!!)
I used to build Games Workshop Warhammer 40,000 stuff (http://www.games-workshop.co.uk) before I got back into serious military modelling, and I once built a custom fighter plane out of a 1/72 scale Spitfire, Warhammer ‘heavy bolters’, scanners and a shoulder pad as a cockpit, then stuck on a tiny Sidewinder from a miniture snap-together kit underneath. It looks soooo wierd…
