ever build a model With your wife

I agree with Devil Dawg, if your wife wants to share in the hobby, go for it! The whole lower storey of our house is one big display room/mancave and she has a section in one corner where she can do her card making and I have my modeling desk and the rest is our various collections. She has built a couple of car models, and actually came second in the ladies section in our state modeling championships a couple of years back! She also has a couple of figures she wants to make. I am one of those lucky guys whose wife is fully supportive of my hobby and I am grateful for that. I think I’ll keep her! In fact, if I say I saw a new model kit, or die cast car, or something else we collect, I get in trouble if I don’t bring it home!! She also has a collection of about 80 Batmobiles, as well as collections of Terminator and Predator figures. It’s funny, we talk to each other all the time when we are upstairs, but when we go downstairs together to work on our hobbies we can sit there for hours and not say a word to each other! It’s great!

Cool story Aussie Mick. At least you guys don’t collect those damn stupid Hello Kitty crap. LOL!!

That’s great Aussie. I keep telling my wife that I’ll relocate my stash to put a table in the room for her hobbies. So far she has turned me down.

Yes she has her table facing my bench. Her various jewelry making projects.

I’m like Aussie Mick - one of the lucky ones with a supportive wife. We’ve built a handful of models together. She builds as well - and does a great job. Actually, I’m doubly blessed because my daughter and two sons also build. We don’t often get time to share my obses…I mean, hobby together, but it’s fun when we do. And they all put up with discussion about the latest kits etc.

Yup. I have it easy. And I know it.

I’m blessed too have my high school sweetheart as my wife …built a large sewing bench for her hobby .one day to my udder Surprise he come with a car model …a car she worked on in her early 20s and ask me to help her build it [:O].

Oh …the car ? 71 hemi cuda. .

My wife enjoys going to contests with me- she says she likes to see me compete, which means she wants me to build models. As if that wasn’t good enough, last year she was browsing the vendor tables and spied the old 1/35 Italeri M13/40 Italian WWII tank. She said she liked it and wanted to build it. We started with cleaning up the running gear, and then due to some of those things that life throws at you we put it away. She keeps asking when we’re going to get back to it, though. I’m excited to see her work her way through this!

I love my wife but there aint no way in HELL that’ll ever happen and she’s even supportive of my hobby.

My wife has no hobbies. Well she likes to buy shoes does that count. She likes to read. Which gives me the time to head to the bench. Absolutely no interest in my hobby. Both my kids too. My daughter built a couple when she was little. My son a few snap together. But nothing recently

Does she think that YOU’RE a keeper, Aussie Mick? [proplr]

Mate,…that goes without saying! I’m great!

Ah, this makes me feel better. My wife always says that she can smell the stink of glue and (acrilic) paint from my cave in the basement. Sometimes I think she should be some kind of wine expert, would make more $$$

Because of my injury, Mrs. Toshi helps me with research and photos. I pick out two models I like to build and she picks out which one she likes. In the end, she just buys me both kits anyway. She won’t build the model but indirectly she’ll check with my progress to see how I’m coming along.

It is Mrs. Toshi that helps me purchase all and every tool, supplies, and misc. items needed to build a model. She even wanted to buy me another AB, a Iwata Eclipse gravity feed and I told her no as I already own a NEO Iwata and a NEO TRN1 trigger gun gravity feed. Maybe in a year or two as I’m still learning how to AB.

Only once…she painted a torpedo which looked more like a cast tank turret. It was mounted on the aircraft anyway and is in my display case some 40 years later. But then I’m not much on sewing a torn seam and thus we practice an efficient division of labor at our house. She once helped measure elevation on a backyard project…“two lines past the big hicky”…God love her (I do)…
