European and Japanese product lines in the US?

Why can’t I find the full line Humbrol or Gunze Sangyo Mr Color here in the US? I even have a hard time locating US sales for some Tamiya products, like their Diorama Texture Grass Khaki.

Okay, so RedFrog (which I just discovered in another thread) seems to carry them … but why so few and far between? I mean, not even on Ebay. Weird.

What is bothering me lately about European and Asian kits in US is price. I keep hearing that dollar is so high that US goods are not selling well in those places. Shouldn’t that keep down their price here in US, but I see new kits from those places really soaring in price!

Airfix has a web store in the states, and should have the full line of Humbrol paints:

As for the Asian brand, it could be the fact that lacquer and enemal paints cannot be shipped by air, and for whatever reason Stateside, availalibilty is affected in some way.

Jack

What I don’t understand is why the Japanese vendors think so highly of their WWII Japanese navy ships? They market the American ships at half the price of the Japanese navy ships from WWII. I would like to build some of their battleships but the prices are just stupid high. I don’t see the value in them for what they are asking.

Try Brookhurst Hobbies for Humbrol and Gunze. They keep both product lines in stock in their store and do online or phone orders.

Awesome, thanks for the recommendation.
