I made a pilgrimage to my LHS last weekend, and couldn’t leave without a Revell of Germany Eurofighter Typhoon (Look Ma! It followed me home! Can I keep it?). Looking over the instruction sheet, of course it has the usual RoG color guide. “Mix 50% of this Revell color with 20% of that Revell color and 30% of another Revell color”. Naturally, being a US of A boy, I don’t have access to Revell paints and even if I did, I really don’t care to play alchemist anyway. Do you know of any color guides that would let a person compare Euro colors to available paints, such as MM enamels? One that might list by country maybe or type of plane?
Visit the http://www.ipmsstockholm.org/ website, they have a great color cross reference guide.
Looks like a good place to go. I also found some guides at another forum that I may join. It uses a system that you can actually search, unlike this one!
i used vallejo model air barely grey thats the closest you would get
If you’re making a German or Austrian plane, then the color is overall FS 35237 (Model Master Medium Gray). For others, I’d use Humbrol 167 (UK Barley Gray).
