Well, here is the “Big Beasty” I had a blast building this and would recommend it anyone (German Armor fan or not)
I added select parts from the Aber PE set, Camo netting from Scorched Earth, a 120mm wooden barrel from Verlinden (nothing like a big 'ole bucket of grease) along with Verlinden’s 120mm Panzer Crew.
Weathering was done with Artist Oil washes, Straight Oils, Pastel chalks, Enamel drybrushing and Woodland Scenics Grass & Dirt.
Without further delay, here she is: Wittmanns Fall Camo Tiger 1 #S04
While I echo Sherman’s words on the praise, and you did do a terrific job, I have to say that the Firefly still was no match for a Tiger on a head to head fight. Watch out Shermie, we’re coming at ya! [;)] Once again, excellent job on your Tiger Eric. After seeing yours, I realize that I neglected the figure that came with mine. I’ve been working on it for the last week. Great model bro. So are you planning on running it around any, perhaps putting a Tamiya Battle Unit in it? Love to see you at one of the tank battles.
Awesome Eric, just awesome!!! You definitely did justice to that model!!!
Excellent build, paint and weathering bro!! The figuress look great!! I think I’ll have to get that Verlinden book on the figures also! I think you made a good choice on not white washing it also. So have you been running it around the yard yet?? Giving the cat heart attacks etc??[:D]
It’s so big and great! The tank itself is superduperific, bu the wittman figure gives it so much authority! Thanks for raising the modelling bar around here…[:(!]… [bow]
Eric! Great job! [bow][bow][bow] When are you going to post pictures to your Tiger Group Build site to finish out the article? I’d like to see all the remaining steps from where you left off last. Lester
I will be posting the finishing touches tomorrow. I will also be getting some other pics posted. In the light the above pictures were taken, it looks too “clean”. I took them in the den because it was just too cold in the garage [xx(]
Thanks for the kind words all. With everything I have learned here, it has definately played a part in this build!
PS…For Wittmann’s jacket, I went with the Elite Italian U-Boat Commander’s jacket instead of doing the dress black overcoat.
Hey Eric,
Did anyone tell you that you ROCK…!!![:p] For a minute there I thought I was actually looking at an actual photo.
Hands down my friend, that is one hellofa job you did!! So how long did it take you to complete this beast?
I give ya [tup][tup]
BTW way I like they expression on the dude in the yellow. I can just hear him saying, HUH like which way are we going[:p]
Flaps up, Mike
Hey Eric,
Not to sure if I asked this before and if I did, I do apologize!! But do you basically build in 1/16th scale or do you also build in 35th??
Also the kits that are the 16th scale, are they R/C or actual models?
Thanks again my friend
Flaps up, Mike
Your weathering and little details are awesome! The bucket, holes in the exhaust, and the brush caught in the front track( I think I saw part of a sherman in there also), nice touches. I wouldn’t dare take pictures that close to anything I have done ! The camo is awesome as well . It’s great !
The figures are lifelike and detailed, [wow]
Great Job ! [tup]
You gotta give us something 1/35 in a picture - so we can appreciate the size - that’s gotta be huge !
