English Electric Lightnings on the move!

There’s an open day at RAF Bruntingthorpe in Leicester, UK on the 10th July, and they’re going to be doing fast taxi-ing of 2 of the LPG’s Lightnings, and I’m going to be there! [8D]

I’ll also be sneaking into the hanger where they keep Vulcan XH558 to take some close-ups of the bomb-bay & undercarriage.[:D] I’ll post some of the pics up when I get back, and BOY am I looking forward to it! [;)]

Sounds Cool Mike
Don’t forget your camera , love to see some pics of XH558 [:D]

Don’t you worry Sean, I’ll be taking 2, and about 3 gig of memory cards! [;)]

I’m gonna try & get a peek inside the cockpit too if I can, so watch this space [:D]

Pretty Dark inside and shut in mate , hope you dont like small spaces
oh and mind your head when you go up the ladder
I managed to bang mine [banghead][(-D][(-D][(-D][(-D]

Right… I shall bear that in mind - you’re not particularly tall, are you? I’m 6ft… I’m fine with enclosed spaces though - I just want to see inside, as I’m not bothering to detail the cockpit other than by painting it black, cos there’s no point with those diddy windows!

Looking forward to seeing Lightnings on the move though, as I don’t think I ever saw them at displays when I was a sprog.

Lightnings were awesome , saw those at Biggin Hill when they were still in service
loads of noise loads of flames and then straight up vertical
fantastic sight to see

me I’m 5’10’’ , when i got inside the pit its spooky plus i could just about squeeze in between the to pilot seats , oh and i’m skinny ,
I would love to see how those guys got into those , with full suits on and up in the air
in minutes took me about 5 minutes after banging my head and getting in the pilot seat

Well - I’m less than skinny. Chunky, even! Here’s hoping they let me get inside [;)]
