Finally finished another fiqure, started this fiqure about two years ago, delay due to to a move from one state to another. The fiqure is Verlinden’s English Medieval Archer, it has been painted using a combination of Humbrol Enamels, oil paints and Vallejo Acrylics. This is the first fiqure that I started to experiment with the Vallejo acrylics.
Very nicely done Wayne !!!
Do you have slightly larger pics of this build, I for one would love a bit closer a look.
Thanks for sharing with us.
Very nice work. I especially like the shading on the tunic. You captured that exceptionally well. Kudos!
I like what you’ve done. I am especialy fond of this time period and like doing this type of figure. I’ve been looking at this one for a while and you’ve made up my mind.
Thanks.
Mike
Excellent work. How do you like the Vallejo acrylics?
Excellent job, especially if you receive praise from Renarts, as I have seen his work similar time period figures and they are incredible!!
Good job@!!!
Great paint job! Just wonderful.
shermanfreak thanks for comments, Im still learning the in and out of digital photos and posting them but Ill give it a try.
Thanks also to the others for the positive comments, gives a bit more confidence to post more photos as I complete models.
rjkplasticmod, Definitely impressed with the Vellejo Acrylics so much so that a fiqure that Im working on now will be painted with only Vellejo.
Wow! That’s great. I like the period a lot myself.
I’ve always wanted to do one of those fancy Verlinden sets of French knights from the Hundred Years War. Some of them are really spectacular, like the knight trapped under his fallen horse. Kind of a medieval version of The Dying Gaul, a brave and honorable warrior slain by a superior military technology.
A superb job, thanks for the pics.
well done. thanks for sharing.

If you guys like this period, I highly reccomend Gerry Embleton’s “The Medieval Soldier in Photographs”
Embleton heads a group that re-enacts this time period called the Company of St. George and is very highly regarded for his accuracy and research. The group he has assembled has done a great job of portraying this time period from the highest Lord to the lowest soldier and this book has some great photos of combat, training and most importantly equipment and livery. He’s also authored about a dozen titles in the Osprey Men At Arms Series.
Well worth a look.
Mike
Wayne,
Superb build! Great work - I like the realism. Give us some more.
Richard
absolutely amazing!
I really want to make some sort of a medivial character, but haven’t had the chance yet
I like to thank all for the positive input, help me make up mind to enter the fiqure into the ACTSMS Comp in Canberra last weekend. Model picked up a second place in the Large Scale Fiqures.
hi wayne have just seen pictures of your english archer youve done a great job still trying to do mine stripped the paint of mine at least ten times ,after looking at yours think i will stop doing mine. brian
Thanks Brian, but don’t stop yours I hate to think the number of times I’ve stripped a fiqure and started again. Remember if you need help just contact me, will be away until after the June long weekend.
That is really cool. I’ve never done a figure, never even really thought about doing one, but you have perked my interest. I’ll look at the verlinden section at my LHS as they have the bigest V section I have ever seen…14 ft.
That is awesome, Wayne!
Your painting skills are topnotch…thanks for sharing.
