engine build

hi,

i am building my first engine detail kit (pratt&whitney 2800) i have the painting planed out ok but was wondering if anyone would mind giving some advice on the instalation of the photo-etch wiring and the flex-tubing on the cylinders. i have seen some really nice engines and really want to do a decent job!

What detail set are you using and what scale? When I built my P-47 I chiseled off the molded on push rods and replaced then with short pieces of wire. The PE wiring harness was first glued to the front of the engine lining the individual wires to their final attachment points… long ones lining up with the spaces between the front row cylinders to reach the back row. A spot of thick CA glue and coax the end if the wire into position with a toothpick. Next time I think I will take the time to make each wire individually from thin solder since i think the PE wires are flat and obviously look flat.
