Seeing how much better Acrylics seem to go on better than enamels, I was wondering if it matters if you use acrylic sealers or enamel sealers specifically, or can they be interchanged without any ill effects.
acrylics go on better than enamels? I always heard the opposite but enamels were a pain because you had to use thinner for everything, and they smell.

For me acrylics always spray better (less overspray) but enamels stick better. I intermix tamiya acrylics and various enamels all the time. Generally works good because tamiya acrylics can be thinned nicely with lacquer thinner (this is what I prefer). As for sealer coat, sometimes I use testors metalizer sealer over acrylics. It darkens the colors very slightly but works well. This is just what I do, standard disclaimer YMMV.

As to your question, you should be able to paint enamels over acryics and vice versa IF the base coat is completly dry. Minimum of 24 hrs drying time (preferably 48) and if you have any doubt, sniff the paint surface - if it still smells like paint, it’s not yet dry.
