Emily?

No, I’m not looking for an ex-girlfriend - I’d like to know if there has ever been a model made of the Kawanishi H8K “Emily” flying boat, in any scale. Thanks!

As I suspected, being such a large plane, that there must be one in 1/72. Here’s hasegawas:

And in 1/144 there is a nice kit made by LS, if you can find one.

I have that kit and it is a litttle gem…the Hasegawa version is very long in the tooth and a beast to build…

Is the size of the aircraft directly related to the length of the link?[:O]

Here’s my Hasegawa 1/72 Emily that I put together about 25 years ago. The kit wasn’t new even then!

Wow…nice work on such a dog of a kit…they also have the Mavis, which is a much more slender a/c…Trumpeeter makes the Mavis in 1/144 and it is a stunning kit…

Very nice Emily, Dave.

In the IJA/IJN Rare WWII GB [link]/forums/827368/ShowPost.aspx[/link] we’re tackling a lot of kits, some nasty, some not. I’ve got the 1/72 Hasegawa Emily and the 1/72 Hasegawa Mavis to build, and maybe, if I feel really brave, the 1/72 Hasegawa Rita. Feel free to check us out. [tup]

Hasegawa is re-releasing the old Mavis kit, it was supposed to be out ‘last quarter of 2007’ but has been pushed back to ‘late February 2008’. As for the Emily, your best bet is to try eBay.
