You know, that animation reminds me of one overcast (and VERY dark) evening just east of Montgomery, Alabama… we were in position to pick up a 155mm Field Piece, and the fellow on the ground who was going to hook it up, reached up and touched the aircraft skin (without his gloves) before the aft wheels were on the ground, which completed the old Static Electricity circuit! We saw the flash, instantly followed by our FE speed-yelling; “PULL UP, PULL UP!!!”.

This is the best position for hooking a load, although it’s preferable to be back a little farther (my opinion) with the aft wheels resting on the ground, to prevent a Static discharge from accidently happening.

The trooper that got zapped was later asked how it felt, and he said; “It was a shocking experience”[:0]

Thank you for you kind words.

Your ACH-47 is incredible ! The article is first rate also. I’ve never seen a picture of what the Aroura 48th kit was like. I know a guy who might be willing to sell me one. Your pics have sealed my desire to buy it when the money becomes available. I only build in 1/48, with the exception of airliners, so a 48th -47 would be a welcome addition to my collection.

I’ll have to read these posts about Panda 1/35 -47. Might have to build one for my company’s orderly room.
