I don’t know what the proper protocol for posting this kind of info is, so forgive me if my ignorance is flagrant. The problem is, for the past few days, some e-mails coming to me through this system to my RoadRunner e-mail are being rejected because of something called the “netsky.” -something worm. I don’t know if my server is being over sensitive or if this is a real problem. But it seems to be only from mssgs coming from this site’s e-mail carrier. You can tell by my poor use of the proper dialect that I’m computer stupid, but my computer seems to know this and is careful to insure that I understand that it refused to accept an e-mail because it couldn’t scrub the worm off.
My question is, has anyone else had this prob?
I haven’t seen anything yet. Thanks for the heads up.
I was getting a lot of these here about a month ago. I think that maybe why my computer has crashed at home. Be careful of what you do get as my firewall missed a couple and it infected my computer. They’re a bear to get rid of.
I haven’t had this problem at all, but I dont’ get a lot of emails from here. I’m somewhat inconspicuous around here I guess. I also use a whole lot of virus protection and firewall protection as well. You can do a search on netsky and see that it’s a pretty prevalent virus, but preventable. You might want to double check and make sure you’re not infected Sharky.
I have got a trojon I think from here but no worms… unless it was hiding under the trojon.
Hey, worm are good, the more worms, the better the soil [:)].
No seriously, I use Macaffee, antivirus, and I haven’t had any problems. But I scan my HDD at least twice a week.
Yeah, between my Norton updates and RR’s Argus-eyed system, I feel pretty safe, and I am careful what I open. I feel safer opening an e-mail that’s gone through FSM than has come straight to me, though that’s probably a very false sense of security. And, just by posting this I’m probably going to wake up and find my hard drive wiped clean in the morning. Why don’t these swine who have nothing better to do than think of ways to screw with the lives of people they will never know, well, why don’t they go out and buy a model and build it instead.
Then they can post a proud photo of it here, so we can then trace it back to their terminal and go over beat the living crap out of them.

Tell me about it. I’ve been through 3 different Harddisks already each infected with a different virus/worm. Chernobyl, Sasser and Blaster. My E-mail is web-based (yahoo), so if there is a virus, it has to get past Yahoo security and my Anti-virus software. You know… i can’t help but wonder if the Anti-virus software people are making the viruses themselves… hehehe [:p]
Knock on wood! I’ve recieved quite a few emails through the site and haven’t picked up anything yet.

I only use my company E-mail as this sits behind a massive firewall, with anti-virus software updated every 15 minutes.
I work in IT so take this stuff fairly seriously. To be safe you need get a firewall, good anti-virus software, and to back all your files up on a regular basis, so even it all goes wrong you haven’t lost everything.
And they say computers are getting simpler!!!
