Or Maus - I almost put a tail on it! Dragon’s old kit - had some fit issues on the hull, but came together in the end. Big bastard - I wonder if the germans had managed to build these things in quantity how they would have faired on the battlefield? I tend to think not too well - just too big and unweildy.
My guess is, if they saw one show up, they’d whistle up some wingy things. If that group of 2-4 had any problems (this is doubtful), they’d probably would have a squadron of ground attack planes show up and finish it off with ease. This thing would have needed to travel with its own battery of AA guns…
Well, mstazz62, thats one really nice build. To the question of the battlefield performance, well I think it would be nothing more than a pillbox on wheels, but I do have the schiffer book on thet mouse and it seems to have been quite agile when tested as a hull. Maintenance would have been a problem as in the Doyle / Speilberger book I think it states that a suspension unit change took 4 days.
Zaster - May I call you Zaster? Thats my display case in my model room- the wife got it for my birthday one year. It contains my best (in my opinion) stuff, but not all. Geez, I got so much stuff around in other shelves, in the basement, et al…
Heres my model case:
Next time somebody starts a thread on whole collections I’m gonna be ready!
Is that a SU-76M I see in your collection? What kit manufacturer…MiniArt?[?] Because I’m currently working on the 1/35 MiniArt SU-76M for a GB, and I have a WIP thread about it. Alot of problems with that kit, that’s for sure. Click here, if you want to see my SU-76 progress.[:)]
