Hello Guy.
I used the Eduard PE zimmerit on a few builds years ago. Although the zimmerit was well sized, I abandoned it because I wasn’t happy with the look of it on the model. It just comes out understated. Other issues are edge seams that must be filled (I did this with putty). IMHO you would be better of not using it and going with resin.
I tried both Verlinden and Eduard sets; first the Verlinden on the KT:

And on a Panther A, the Eduard set (painted):

It has been said that since it is exactly to scale, it becomes almost invisible in 1/35th scale? I don’t know. It has been around for years and is not exactly a “hot seller”. I have since switched to hot iron which I love to do and which I think looks grat when done properly.
regards,
Steve
I used the Eduard Zim for my in progress Sturmtiger:

My first time with PE Zim. It doesn’t look bad at all. I used extra-thick cyanoacrylate to glue it. I will agree with Steve though, it leave a seam on the outside that will require to be filled.
Thx guys. Steve the KT and the Panther look great but im sure you could make a turd look good. Thx Guntech yours looks good to me too. Darn, ill have to go for it. It will be a learning curve if nothing else.

It may be a good idea to use one of the slower-drying types of CA glue. I made the mistake of using the fast drying stuff and I had no time to adjust the parts. One of my zim panels was just a hair off, which was just enough to look bad. I like the overall look of my Zim Tiger, but next time I’m going to try my hand at putty zim and damage it up a little bit.

[#ditto] on the CA. I too had a very bad experience. I recommend a 2-part epoxy that allows some time to set. This way everything will be lined up accordingly. I used it on my Cavalier resin with little problems.
I used Eduard pe zimmerit on a DML Elefant and to be honest I wasn’t impressed. It was too even and new looking and from more than 3 feet away is invisible. I get better results using Cavalier zimmerit sets. Also I used satin varnish to apply mine, just paint it on, let it go tacky and apply zimmerit.
