I’m building a NA Harvard for my mom for her birthday (this was her dad’s plane back in 1943) and I’m considering getting the Eduard PE set. However, the kit I’m building is the 1/48 Revell of Germany one, not the Occidental kit which the Eduard set is designed for. I heard a rumor once that the RG kit was just a re-packaging of the Occidental kit. Does anyone know if this is true and if this PE set would work with the RG kit?
Anyone?
I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that it will, in all probability, work.
Even if the R-G kit is the old Monogram T-6, the Occidental kit’s parts breakdown is almost identical.
The only drawback will be that the old Monogram kit is of an “A” model, while the Occidental kit was of a “G” model.
Thanks, that’s what I needed to know!
If it has raised panel lines, the Revell kit is a re-box of the old Monogram kit. If it has recessed panel lines, it’s a re-box of the Occidental kit. At least some of the Eduard PE set should be useable on the old Monogram kit.
Regards, Rick
Yeah, it’s raised panel lines. At this point I think I’m gonna skip it…too much money to spend on something that may or may not fit, and I’m also in a major time crunch (it has to be done by Nov. 13). Thanks for your help though!
