Hey, guys:
Finished this before the Big Russian Jet GB started over the summer (completed build in early July) and finally have time to post it here. I actually started way back in early December of 2011, but because of work, family, home construction, the fact that I’m a slow builder, and because of the kit itself, took me months to finish. Spent hours and hours on this one and honestly thought I would never reach the finish line. But I did. Ok, I didn’t glue on the canopy, but close enough. ![]()
It’s got everything on it–Eduard PE and Brassin, can’t even remember where I got the Aphids, MM enamels, Tamiya acrylics, AKAN acrylics (awesome stuff), lots of CA and Milliput to fill gaps, even an artist’s oil filter (my first attempt).
Pretty much all you’ve read on the Net about this kit is true–fit of the pylons is horrible and sizeable gaps at the wing roots, but looks like a Fitter (I think?). I wanted a challenge and got one, but in the end, I think this build pushed my skills. And I love that Eduard breathes new life into these old kits.
Following the BRJ GB and would love to join (because I’m obsessed with BRJs), but I’m just toooo slooooow. So in the spirit of the GB, considering doing Eduard’s Su-25k next!
Photography horrible, as always.
Thanks for looking!
