Eduard Spitfire XVI 1/48 - Finished

That engine has some great details. This is gonna be one sweet kit.

BK

Stepped away from the engine for today.

More work on the pit - the belts are a combination of Eduard fabric ones and a little gin bottle foil for the bits that split/frayed as these fabric ones sometimes do.

With the engine about 80% done, it was time for the moment of truth.

I chopped the front fuselage and under the wing…held my breath and dry-fitted.

HOORAH! a perfect fit!!

5-high

Cheers [:)]

Some lovely work there Ade, that engine is really nice.

Great work on the cockpit, I really like the look of those belts.

Ouch! Did you find all the parts when the engine broke? Looks good in the photo.

Yeah - nothing actually got lost, it just broke all the attachment points.

I had to carefully “unbuild” it back to the major components then glue everything back.

Masks on

Green on!

Masks off!

That is real nice work. I have built many a spitfire but never a Eduards kit And the camouflage looks very good

All glossed for decals. A little tidying to do but , mostly decalling tomorrow.

Ade -

Outstanding job on the “pit, engine and paint job”…Just an amazing job sir. I am definitely going to get this kit. Again, wonderful job and will be here until the end. Thank you for sharing.

Fantastic job on your build!

Fair bit achieved today, Decalling, a bit of a wash and a varnish.

All set to get back to work on the engine befor fitting it.

Start of the day:

As of now:

Yes Sir she is looking sharp!! Great Job Ade

Engine on! phew…

That is super sharp. Looks like you’re in the home stretch…

Fitted the final wing panels which can only go on after the engine. One side has a gap…

Out with the Miliput, sanding stick and a little paint…

Ohhhhhhhh, now she’s starting to look like a Spit- sharp work!
