Hi all,
just completed my second 1:48 Spitfire. After the Tamiya one I made this amazing Eduard Kit. I have loved every single moment of it. Compared with Tamiya, I believe the level of detail is slightly higher at a cost of a higher number of dry fits before assembling but I highly recommend this kit.
Next one will be a Tamiya 1:32 F4U1-A Corsair..
Cheers and Happy new Year to everyone… ![]()
Congratulations! You did a great job on it.
Your Spitfire looks great. While I’ve always been partial to the dark earth/dark green camo common for Battle of Britain Spits, the ocean grey/dark green look has grown on me over the years.
Good luck on your Tamiya Corsair. I built the F4U-1 (bird cage) variant a few years ago. Take your time, verify the fits, and before you know it, you should have a great looking Corsair. Although I will point out that Tamiya dropped the ball with regard to the actuators that operate the cowling flaps, as in they are not present but are visible when the flaps are deployed. I scratch built that detail with a little sheet styrene and some wire, but when I bought the same kit you are getting ready to build (mine is staying in the stash for the foreseeable future), I bought an aftermarket cowling that includes the actuators.
Very nice looking Spitfire. I too prefer that camo scheme - quite striking.
Excellent job. It is a wonderful Spitfire.
Wow, it turned out great. Really nice job on the weathering!.
Sharp looking Spit you’ve got there! I have a few of Eduards newer kits in my stash but the only Eduard kit that I built, is there earlier offerings of the P-400/39 series. Definitely needed a lil TLC but its a great build once done!
Definitely itching to build my Eduard Spit now! Thank you for sharing!
Happy Modeling,
Mike
Your attention to detail is commendable. A job well done.

That really looks sharp @Cingolez! I like that you did not go to heavy handed with the weathering either. Nice work!
Thanks everybody for your kind comments… ![]()
