I’m considering buying one of these, but I can get 2 regular for the price of one profipack kit. Basically what I want to know is- what parts are replaced in the profipack kit, and what effect do they have on the level of detail? or, would it be easier to just scratchbuild the detail and call it good (and have 2 kits instead of 1)?
This is really a personal question. Would you buy the detail kit for it anyway, and if you did what would the price be? My father built the profipack and if memory serves correctly it not only has the PE parts but also some resin and the window masks. So if these are important to you, then get it. Personally I buy the profipacks because I usually turn around and atleast get the PE set for the kit. I like my own masks… Any resin parts included are much nicer than the plastic ones as well…
An absolute YES. Even beter, if you can the extra up front money, and it is still available… get the dual combo. All the stuff inthe Profipak plus pre-cut canopy masks and color PE and it all TIMES 2. 2 complete models in the box that works out cheaper for each than 1 single. 3 and 4 blade prop hubs, 3 different exhasts, and different nose gun cowls make a bunch of versions possiblie.
I builkt one recetly, and plan to start the other soon for the P-39 GB.

And here are other reviews of the dual combo and profipak…

Well, thanks for your help, guys. I decided to spring for the dual combo and an AM decal sheet. I can’t wait till they get here! I also got an eduard FW-190A-8 and an ICM spitfire Mk.VIII, and a B-17 decal sheet.
