Eduard Moraine Saulnier N-1 - Progress PICS

I’ve started installing the rigging. The finish is still clear gloss as I always put the rigging on before the clear flat that way if there are any shiny spots from adhesive they get evened out. Comments are encouraged

Great looking build.

I’ve always loved the little Moraine, and your’s really does it justice.

Now there is a most unusual subject! SHe sure looks pretty, too! The rigging really catches your eye, and the colors really pop! I’m impressed![tup][tup]

That’s lookin’ sweet! The way you accentuated the rib detail on the wings is outstanding! Keep the pics coming! [tup]

Very nice build.

Excellent work thus far!

One thing I notice you may want to address is the wash on the tires. You can faintly see where the wash spreads up onto parts of the tire but not all of it. I would try to either remove that except the wash in the grooves or add another wash to cover the entire wheel/tire. Otherwise, beautiful work! [tup]

That is a nice model Don. Actually I thought the tires looked too clean! What’s the plan for the gun?

Thanks for the comments. Those comments on the tires are well founded and appreciated. I’ll be adding a lot of final weathering as I finish up this week and will make sure I get them more appropriately dirty. The light grey is just the base color for the ruibber (I can’t bring myself to use pink even though I’ve read that many of the tire formulations of the time produced pink tires). The one thing I’m regretting is starting the rigging on the top side. Now I’m building a foam jig to how the a/c upside down without damaging the rigging while I rig the underside. I should have done the reverse.

I’ve got a PE Hotchkiss gun that is on the bench but I’ll not add it until the end. It doesn’t look too bad for a PE gun. The stock is a bit thin but with another layer of paint it will build up enough to be ok. The delicate PE support struts will be a challenge.

C’est la vie!
