Joe R, o ye, i forgot about that, just went backed and checked your pics. It is indeed a great kit, i have primed it and got the undersides painted and i did use one single bit of filler.
I did do a PTO P-61 last year and i do have a PV-1 in the stash. So it definatly won’t be my last. they have all been gifts, but you never now, i might actally buy one myself, i do like the Corsair.
Time for a short update, mainly been painting this week so that took a bit of time. All the assembly was done soon after the last update. This went together like a dream. I just needed a small bit of filler infront of the canopy, but i think that was more doen to me. I really like how the wings fit especially, no filler at all there.
And then off to the paint booth. After some primer, i used Xtracolor white on the underside and the two blues are Humbrol. I left 2 days between each coat before masking and then finished off with Alclad gloss on top, as the Xtracolor is gloss anyway.
I am just taking a break from adding the decals, so should have that doen tonight and then some detail painting.
Bravo Bish on a tri-color scheme well done. It looks great. Did you mask at all or did you free hand it? Yeah, how about how Eduard engineered those wings. I too was duly impressed. Seriously, you don’t need to even glue them in place.
Thanks Joe. I used White tac to mask. But i didn’t get it quite straight enough, so i had to tidy up a bit freehand. I know what you mean, the fit is perfetc. Hasegawa does the same thing with their B-24 kits.
