Eduard 1/48 La-7 Weekend Edition Completed Pics

I love these Eduard Weekend Edition kits- great engineering for under $13! This was a really fun kit, and I hope Eduard releases many more of this series.

For those who are interested, I wrote a more complete build report at AgapeModels.com.

I highly recommend this kit.

Looks real good from here Jon. Nlce one.

Regards, Rick

Very nice [tup] I was just looking at those Weekend Editions on Squadron, and I’m planning on getting the Bf-108 next…

She’s a nice lookin’ bird!!!

Good work, Jon, you’re really pushing them out the door lately. Looks professional, I liked your write-up, too. I wonder if that is the same plastic as the Gavia kit?

Jon, that’s a really nice job you’ve done there! What colors did you end up using for the camouflage? I’ve been trying to find VVS colors I’m happy with, and your’s looks spot on to me. I knnow there’s WEM paints, but they’re kind of expensive for me right now…

Outstanding work Jon! BEAUTIFUL paintwork, and the decals look painted on. [tup]

Oustanding build!!!

Here is mine, the Gavia offering:

Great job Jon! A real pro job. I can’t believe it’s under $13. Hope they do that with their new 110 kit!

ALso my congratulations on a well done build! I’m loving the camoflauge too. But looking at the cockpit, they sure didn’t give a whole lot in the name of comfort. Didn’t they?

Jon, really nice job on this one. Nice paint and clean build. Some bad news though, it really does not look like a Spitfire. Ha,HA,HA.

Steve

I like! Looks fantastic.

Very nice Jon. They devlopment of your skills since you have joined the forum is evident with each build you post. Well done my friend.

Nice Jon,

I did visit your site to read more about you work.

Gumiflex

Very nice, Jon. Was it tough not modeling a Spitfire? Well done on th Eduard kit. Your painting, finishing and weathering skills shine through on this one.

rjkplasticmod, ben1227, scorpr2, DesertRat, Tankmaster7- Thanks so much to each of you. I truly appreciate your kind words and encouragement!

jeaton01- Yes, I believe that is the Gavia kit. And thanks so much for the compliments on the write-up, I really appreciate the encouragement!

cardshark_14- Those were Pollyscale paints… USSR Dark Topside Gray and USSR Light Topside Grey, and USSR Underside Blue. I’m sold on PS paints- it’s all I use any more. I’m glad you asked that- I need to add that to my build report. Thanks for the kind words!

Daywalker- Thanks so much! The Eduard decals were great, and they reacted better than any decals I’ve used to the PS Decal Softener.

Manstein’s revenge- You had to post your La-7… [;)] That is just outstanding… seriously! Thanks for your kind words, they truly mean a lot to me.

ModelNerd- Thanks so much my friend! Yeah, more Weekend Editions from them would be a good thing.

sidure- Thanks! Yeah, with AgapeModels.com, I need to try and keep a balance of kits flowing. So it’s build a Spitfire, then something else, build a Spitfire… right now I’m working on an Academy P-40B (1/72), the Airfix Spitfire Mk. I, and the Revell SBD. After that… some Spitfire of some Mark. LOL

wing_nut- Thanks so much for those uplifting words, my friend. I’m just thankful to have such a great group of modelers like you who have helped me so much along the way. You guys are a blessing!

Gumiflex- Thanks! Hope you enjoyed your visit!

mucker- I struggled through… LOL! Thanks so much!

Wow, great build! Looks like I have yet another kit I need to add to the stash. [;)]

Did you really build it in a weekend?

Pretty bird

Nice work.

IL2windhawk- Thanks for your kind words!

dupes- Thanks so much! No, not in a weekend. Still, I probably only put about 10 hours work into it, so if you can find 10 hours in a weekend, you could get it done pretty quick. (Of course, I tend to give about 5 minutes drying time between coats of anything, too. Living on the edge… [;)])

That’s actually the series name from Eduard, “Weekend Edition”. For WWII aircraft, it has the La-7, Yak-3 and Bf-108 (<$12). There are several WWI aircraft (<$10!) and I see they added a Mirage IIIC ($20). Those prices are from squadron.com.

They’re a great way to feed the stash monster for not too much money.

Beautiful build Jon.[tup] Like the others have said, you really are raising the bar.[;)]
