Eduard 1/48 Bell P-39L Airacobra

Here’s a link to my latest project, Eduard’s P-39L Airacobra Dual Combo. This was my first fully airbrushed model and though mistakes were made, i’m satisified with it and I learned from them so hopefully the next project will be even better.

Great work! That’s a fun little kit. Did you have any issues with the canopy being too narrow?

I’m relieved you mentioned that cause I thought it was my fault that it wouldn’t fit right. Anyway I did what I could.

Sure Looks pretty darn good to me!

That’s quite impressive for your first airbrush kit. Congratulations. You should re-post this in the aircraft section so more people will see it.

Interesting. Wonder if it’s a flaw common to the kit… I’m having the same issue on the P-400 on the bench right now. It has me at a stopping point as I work on a solution.

DiscoStu, if you’re building the Hasegawa Bell P-400, when you go to attach the canopy you will need to squeeze the fuselage a little until the edge if the canopy and the fuselage edge match. Then you can glue the canopy to the fuselage. I had to hold the two together with a couple of Harbor Freight plastic clamps until the glue had set overnight. I used Tamiya Extra Thin to attach the canopy.

The Eduard P-400, actually. It sounds like the same issue. Yeah I’ve been kicking around using clamps. I’ll give your method a shot.
