Two more beautiful models. You really do have some work here. Finish is very good, windows nice and clean. Well done! [^]
Nice job on both! They look good! Thanks for posting the pic’s.
Very nice work on both models [tup]. Thanks for sharing.

A pair of beauties. That P-39 is a sweet kit. Well done.
Two very nice builds there!.. but the Hellcat really caught my eye. I like the subtle variations in the sea blue, and the red propeller hub adds just the right amount of visual interest up front. It looks good in the French markings, especially the rudder stripes. Did you use the kit decals?
Kevin
yep hasegawas decals were used and they worked fine with micro sol and set. i was worried about the tail decal but it fitted perfectly. The variations in blue was achieved by preshading in dark grey and then spraying tamiya flat white in a random pattern all over the airframe not sticking to the center of panels. This was followed by applying thin coats of xtracolor glossy sea blue, building up the colour. This was a long process taking the guts of two weeks waiting for each coat to dry fully until i was happy with the result.
I have a few of eduards hellcats so it will be interesting to see how they compare to this.
Thanks for this. I usually approach this kind of job through post-shading (personal preference I guess) but your pre-shading technique came through well. You sure got a nice finish out of it. [tup]

Those are some great looking builds. I have to say that I think the way in which you finish your birds look fantastic.
I second that to what Daywalker said…!! Beautiful builds my friend!! Thank you for sharing

Rangers Lead The Way
Very nice work, The paintwork on both really stands out. Did you use a preshade as the effect looks very nice.
Two things that stood out with the Cobra was the colour of the exhausts. Perhaps a drybrush with some rusty coloured paint might help and secondly whats the thing in the end of the prop hub?
Hopr you dont mind the critiques. Really good work on both.
…Guy
Kellyshero,
Nice clean builds on both kits. I’m a big fan of subtle weathering. The markings are very interesting. Any details on these?
Is your screen name a reference to the movie?
Thanks for sharing.
very nicely done; as mentioned before, the paint jobs are superb!
Wow nice builds. Both came out beautiful.
Excellent work! Thanks for sharing.
Great Job on both!
Preshading was done on both birds. With the aircobra i preshaded in dark grey along panel lines and blocked in some panels in black and grey. Then sprayed thin coats of Humbrol 155 until i was happy with the result. Then masked off random panels with lightened and darkened mixes of 155 to add a bit of interest when viewing from different angles. With the exhaust i sprayed it black then drybrushed with xtracolor oily steel
The hellcat was preshaded along panel lines only followed by spraying tamiya flat white in a very random pattern over the airframe the spraying the blue, again slowly building up. Again when viewed from different angles the differnet panels stand out.
Markings are from the box. I am no expert or rivet counter just building for pleasure. The markings on the aircobra are also in the hasegawa kit. The spinner was the reason i chose the hellcat markings as it added a touch of colour.
I have settled with this type of paint finish as its not too dirty and not too spotlessly clean. I haven’t got to the stage of adding exhaust stains etc as i am too afraid of screwing up the kit. Articles by the likes of Vic Scheuerman in modeling mags over the years have helped me a lot and also seeing the excellent builds posted on this site
My screen name is because of the movie which is one of my favs
