eastern express' kv-1 oop?

i want to get a EE kv-1 1941 mod but i cant find it on any online stores. is it out of production?

They’ve been offered through Alangers site for a while now. Is this it:

http://www.alanger.us/default.asp?go=4&id=6785

They also offer a couple other KV-1 Variants that EE made.

Is it just me, or does EE have quite possibly the worst plastic ever…The last one I did the plastic was nasty, and I swore off EE forever…

If I just had 1 bad luck, let me know, cause they do have some neat options.

Greg, I don’t know if it’s OOP, but the last couple of EE kits I picked up I got from Ebay real cheap. The detail and the plastic is a little soft, but my KV 85 built up into a nice looking model with only a small amount of grunting and groaning. The tracks were real loose though so I just put a bunch of sag between the return rollers to take up the slack.

t3488g, wait for the Trumpeter release supposedly coming out soon. It’s bound to be a better all around kit than the E.E. one. Price might even be cheaper also. The quality should be up to par with their newer releases, which bodes well for the builder. I’m looking very forward to it.

zokissima:
do u know how much the shipping is to canada? it says shipping is $5 on the site, but is doesn’t say to where, i’m guessing to the US.

tigerman:
i’ll keep that in mind, thanks

i was goign to get is off of military hobbies, but it was taken off of the site, so i was going to use ebay when i had the money, but when i did have the money, they weren’t on ebay anymore. udisco online was another canadian online model seller, but they are out of stock too. the lhs near me witht he biggest selection lists their stock online, but they don’t have it either.

I’ve bought from them twice or thrice, but for the life of me, I can’t remember the actual cost. THe $5 is only for ground mail in the continental US,so it’s a little more to us up here, probably somewhere around 10 bucks.
BTW, if you decide to go the alanger route, give it some time for one of their inevitable sales to happen, as they allways do. Also, register with the site, cuz it’ll give you an additional discount.

If you’re interested in military hobbies, call them up. The owner is a really nice guy. Just ask him if they’re expecting any more shipments. THey generally get the eastern european stuff in around january/february, so they might restock the KV-1.

i checked great models, and it was really expensive.

thanks everyone.

Well, at least you know you can get one if you are willing to pay the price. A last resort as it were.

Trumpeter are planning to put out 3 KV1’s, including one 1942 version and a 1941 small turret version. As The T man says, might be better to wait and see.

‘planing’ is the key word there. A KV-1 from trumpeter has been announced a loong while back, but I’m still waiting to see one. I caved and bought the tamiya one, I found it for cheap. With some work, it’ll still be a nice kit.
