Does anyone know which colour reference scheme the east german airforce used. I am trying to reference the colours I will need when I start to build my Trumpter 1/32 Mig 21 Fushbed J.
Hi Sonar, I will see if I can help you out the best that I can… according to the photos in “Final Touchdown, the Last Days of East German Airpower” I compared the camo schemes of the LSK Mig 29s and the Mig 21’s and noticed that (save the underside which was light blue on the 21s) that they carried similar colors in thier camo schemes. Knowing this, I dug up some instructions from my Academy Minicraft Mig 29 kit that had a German version (albiet after reunification but the scheme was the same) included in the paint guide. According to them, the color callouts are:
Brown FS 30219
Medium Field Green FS 34095
Dark Green FS 34079
Be cautious in these references, that i was unable to check to make sure that Academy got their callouts right but hopefully this should point you in the right direction…
