It’s been sitting in my “to do pile” for quite a while, but I finally got to it. I just started scribing and no crap, I am about 1/2 way thru and it’s only been about an hour. The kit has such high raised detail it practically scribes itself I haven’t needed a ruler yet[8-]. The only thing that is going to be a little difficult is the Jack o Lantern-toothed panel lines, but I guess if it was too easy it wouldn’t be any fun…
I’ve been doing free hand scribing for about a year now using only the raised panel lines as my guide, of course I also use an opti visor to bring it all up close to get straight lines. Curved lines can be done easy this way also if you use a needle and trace the outside or inside edge of the curve and apply pressure as you run the needle around the curved line. I use home made scribers for this and jewelers files and get fantastic results.
I’m sorry, I still can’t post pictures[:(]… As for “my” scribing method. Well it’s been a long drawn out process of hit and miss. The method I have come to to use, that has worked best for me (so far) is just metal ruler and this metal/plastic scriber that I had gotten at OSH (works great).
