Hello aerofans!
In my time away from computers, an unusual thought popped into my head: What would happen if a Bell XP-59 and and armed He-179(? first jet to fly) went into a fly-off? In this battle of capitalism and fascism, who would emerge the victor?
It would probably be a draw since they weren’t fast enough to catch each other or manuverable enough to do anything if they did.
Another interesting what-if would be a confrontation between a Me-262 and an early Meteor variant. I don’t believe this ever took place during the second world war. Rumour has it that the Meteors suffered from ‘stick freeze’ at high speeds, so my money’s on the Messerschmitt. What do you guys think?
As for the Me 262 and the meteor, my bet would go to the Me 262.
Definitely the 262 as it was faster than the early Meteors which were somewhat under powered.

However i would go with the P59 as although underpowered, it was designed as a fighter, while the heinkel was a research test bed
