Early Italian Armoured Car

Here’s a pic of my latest completed model. It’s a Lancia 1Zm. First introduced in 1917, it took part in the later stages of WWI (on both sides, courtesy of captured vehicles!), then went on to battle or show off Italian muscle in the Far East, Africa and Europe up until the start of WWII. In fact, one or two were used by a SS regiment in 1943-45 in Northern Italy… It differs from the earlier Lancia 1Z by (mostly) lacking a second little turret on top of the one seen here.

I actually built the pattern for this 1/72 resin kit and I needed one for display purposes. It’s painted with acrylics, watercolours and oils.

Nicely done. Nice weathering. I’m not sure that in '44-'45 you could have got me into one of those.

I really like the tires and the paint on the turret.
