E-100 question

Was the E-100 ever used in the battle of berlin with the German Defenders? I am speaking of the Dragon kit.

No. A few hulls were produced. I’m pretty sure no turrets were available. Not much to go on with this vehicle.

Unless I am mistaken, the E-100 and the Maus had the same turret.

Something tells me you are correct. The shape is a bit unmistakenable. The E-100 looks as though it has a baffle on the end of the barrel. I don’t recall one on the Maus.

From the research I’ve done on the E-100, only one hull was produced, with no turrets ever made. The turret was desgned to have the same armament as the Maus, and essentially was the same turret, though Hitler scrapped the entire E-100/Maus project before anything other than the hull could be manufactured. From what I have dug up, one Maus made it to final manufacture, but it’s how it met its demise has never be authenticated. The E-100 only came to be due to Porsche having a falling out with the German Ordinance Department, and hence those in the GOD wanting something to compete with the Maus.

Here’s an interesting article on German Super Heavy Tanks:

Here’s another link to photos of what I believe is the only hull produced for the E-100:

Like I said, this info is from the research I’ve done to date, which isn’t exhaustive by any means. There are others on this forum that are much more knowledgable than me in this subject.

I don’t know the vehicle history, but the Kubinka Museum has an intact Maus on display.
