One Q though (pardon my ignorance). What is the rolled canvas item that goes around the perimeter of the hull? A dust screen of some sort?

The rolled canvass around the hull is tent tarpaulin (or at least my best effort at replicating it). Its supposed to help camouflage the chassis. Ive seen them mainly on Dutch Leopards. Im not sure if the Germans do this practice on their tanks.
