I say tamiya tape others will say bare metal foil. its all up to you. you can get tamiya tape 6mm 10mm 18mm width. you should be able to pick it up at any hobby that deals with rc cars like hobby town.
Is there any type of liquid mask?
There are several liquid masking mediums available - eg. Microscale Micro-Mask, Humbrol Maskol, Gunze Mr Mask. (these are just a few)
Mostly, they are thick and difficult to apply smoothly and some, like Humbrol’s Maskol and Gunze’s Mr Mask, aren’t all that friendly to acrylics - too thick an application can lift underlying acrylic coats.
Having said that, they’re good for certain applications, but can sometimes be as much (or more) work as masking with tape.
