Guys, this is something I’ve always wondered about but have never seen it come up or have never tried it. Is it ok to spray dull-cote over clear parts? What effect will it have?

Well, I am far from any expert, but I did spray a clear matt over my recent first aircraft after it was already messed up. The canope was not masked and it frosted it badly. Maybe some dull/matt coats don’t be the one I used definately screwed up the clear canope. Someone with more experience should respond though.
If you’re looking for a frosted glass look … then it’s just fine. But considering that most aircraft I have seen don’t have that look, I’d avoid it.
It just don’t work !!!
Ok. Just wondering. Actually, the only reason I ask is I’m trying to find ways to get the mask of the canopys ASAP. As of now, it will sometimes stay on for weeks and, since dull-cote is usally the last step, I was wondering if I could peal the masking off before I sprayed it.
Thanks.

I found that my mask were staying on a long time as well. I have trouble getting bare metal foil off m canopies after this long so now I mask the major portions of the canopy with masking tape then get the edges with BMF. This makes the mask easier to get off. And I also keep a bottle of Goo-Gone to clean up the sticky junk. This works really well for me.
