Please suggest a dull/flat clear coat to seal tank so it will not look shinning after applied it. I tested Tamiya clear flat but still look shinning. Tank was painted with all flat colors. Thanks.
try testors dullcoat (spray or bottle). Their clear coats work so well, when i hand brush their gloss coat i still get a dull coat.
What I use is Tamiya X-21 Flat Base mixed with Future at a ratio of 4 parts Future to 1 part Flat Base. That ratio gives a pretty flat finish, but if desired one can take it down to 3 parts Future to 1 part Flat base, as long as you’re careful to spray light, even coats.
Polyscale also makes an acrylic flat finish. I’ve never used it myself because my LHS doesn’t carry it, but I’ve heard many good comments and non bad about it.

I put a little bit of Dullcote in my color cup and add a few drops of thinner so it has the consistency of skim milk. I couldn’t even fuess what the actual ratio is.
I use Pollyscale but the only LHS that carries it is across town and Im almost out. So I tried the Future/Tamiya mix and was very happy also. I imagine Ill be switching to Future/Tamiya in a build or so.
I use MM Acryl Dullcoat. You can spray it with an airbrush directly from the bottle. No mixing needed.

I tried using Krylon Flatt Finish, but this has or appears to have a darken effect although not always.
I can say this is because my tank which I painted dark yellow with green and brown camo turn 30% darker after being sprayed by this product.
Until today I’m not sure why this happen, either it is a reaction between my arcrylic paint to the krylon or with my oil wash. However, this spray can does produce a dead flat finish.
Other that I tried is Testor Lacquer Flat. Mixed with 3:1 Flat and thinner and sprayed with my airbrush.
The finish is not as flatt as the above, but does not produce any gotcha.
It does however, fade the color slightly, so control is very important.
I have not tried mixing the Tamiya XF-21 base flatt with anything, but since it carries very thin white-ish residu, the final result maybe like the Testor Lacquer Flat.
Until today I have not find any flatt finish that I really like.
Mr. Hobby has a flat spray can product, but I have not tried it yet.

I use Humbel enamel flat. It’s very flat no matter used in brush or airbrush. But since it’s enamel, your have to be extra caution. Good ventitlation and gas mask are must.
