I’m building a 1/35 Italeri DUKW kit and am trying to identify what the item is on the starboard side of the bow. (I’d include a pic, but my scanner is out of commission right now, will try to get it up and running soon).
The item I’m trying to identify is a long tube (about 6 scale feet); there is a t-handle on one end and toward that same end there is a short section of tube that juts down and away at a 45 degree angle.
Is this some sort of hand-operated siphon/sump/bilge pump? That’s my only guess. Anybody else know for sure? I’ve searched all over the internet and cannot find a description on that, though I have seen it mounted on the real vehicle in WWII era and restoration project pictures.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
